At around noon on Tuesday July 19th a crane being used in the construction of the new Tappan Zee Bridge collapsed. As of now five people are reported to have been injured, fortunately those injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.
The New York State Thruway Authority announced a new task force responsible for determining whether or not to raise tolls for the new $3.9 billion Tappan Zee Bridge. Tolls are currently $5. The full article from the New York Times can be read here
