January 6th, 2021 joins the list of dark, deplorable days in American history as traitors and terrorists stormed the capitol to overturn the 2020 presidential election. Between flight and hotel itineraries, credit card receipts, cameras, and social media posts, law enforcement should be able to catch these people relatively easily. Nevertheless, The FBI is seeking information related to the attack.

Though the storming of Capital Hill received much of the coverage, explosive devices were placed at both the RNC & DNC headquarters. This of course comes a few weeks after a terrorist in Nashville rigged up his RV with explosives. Training and information sharing between law enforcement and private partners can help prevent such attacks. Truck drivers in New York City are encouraged to apply to the NYPD Shield program in which partners are informed of upcoming events, new intelligence and threat information both in New York City and around the world.
It just so happens that January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month (NHTAM). This is a time for everyone to educate themselves about human trafficking and how to spot the signs of trafficking. It is also a time to spread that education to workplaces, houses of worship, schools, government leaders and elsewhere. The trucking industry plays a major role in fighting the scourge of human trafficking. Providing the industry with the necessary tools to do that is Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT).
