Small businesses have been forced to drastically scale up their online operations to survive during the Covid-19 pandemic. Consumers have turned to online retailers for both essential and non-essential items during the pandemic, driving the e-commerce boom. Shopifly, an e-commerce enabler has seen its business skyrocket as a result leading Amazon (the largest e-commerce retailer) to buy Selz, a Shopify competitor.

This purchase comes as Amazon’s third-party marketplace, made up of more than 2.5 million sellers, has grown to account for over half of Amazon’s e-commerce sales. This massive business to consumer shift has quickly changed street space and real estate investment. It has also highlighted the need for more truck drivers. Further, increased talk of a major infrastructure bill as well as a re-emphasis on strengthening the nation’s supply chain, now is the time to join the industry.

Fortunately, for people thinking of becoming drivers, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) is offering the Truck to Success program. This three-day program offered both in person at the Courtyard by Marriott in Blue Springs, MO and online via Zoom from October 26-28, 2021 features trainers, both from OOIDA and other trusted experts, who are in contact with owner-operators daily to provide attendees with the most up-to-date information possible. The jam-packed curriculum includes:

  • Developing a business plan
  • Equipment: Needs and Financing
  • Insurance
  • Operating Authority
  • Safety Audit and Compliance Review
  • Drug and Alcohol: Consortium and Requirements
  • Permits and Licensing
  • Business Structure and Taxes
  • Brokers and Factoring

People looking to enter the industry, sell of inventory, or just improve the fleet to keep pace with the new, e-commerce driven landscape should explore the TruckTractorTrailer.com (TTTExchange) platform. With advanced search and sort, buyer and seller dashboards and online negotiations, the TTTExchange is the most comprehensive and easy to use vehicle marketplace online. TTTExchange buyers, sellers and vehicles are all pre-qualified to ensure the best and most secure experience.
